The 5 Different Types Of Fortnite Players…

Hey what is going on guys, in this video today
we’re gonna be going over the 5 different types of Fortnite players. I believe that out of the millions and millions
of people that play Fortnite, almost all of them will relate with 1 of the 5 types of
players I’m going to describe in this video. So when you hear me describe the type of Fortnite
player that YOU are, let me know what that is by leaving a comment. I think it’ll be really interesting to see
which types of players seem to be the most and the least common. And without further ado, let’s get right into
it. Alright so the first type of Fortnite player
is the creative warrior. Now I know a lot of the time that term is
used in kinda a negative way to make fun of certain players. The logic behind it is that these quote unquote
“creative warriors” spend too much time in creative mode practicing building and editing,
but not enough time getting better at every other aspect of Fortnite. However that’s not what I mean here. I believe that the term creative warrior simply
means a player who revolves their game around building and editing more than anything else. These players feel the most comfortable when
they’re in 1v1 build battles or edit fights, so therefore when they’re playing regular
games, they’ll do everything in their power to turn their fights into those specific situations. And since building and editing are so important
in Fortnite, a lot of these creative warriors are very good players. Even if you have terrible aim which is something
that a lot of people struggle with, the best way to compensate for that is by being a great
builder and editor. Can that be a negative in some situations,
yeah absolutely. The reason creative warrior has turned into
somewhat of an insult over time,,, is because some of these players have a tendency to worry
more about flashiness than effectiveness. I’m sure you’ve all seen someone who will
just keep building for high ground over and over again, but then once they get high ground
they don’t really know what to do with it. Or when they’re in something like a close
range box fight, they’ll do all these crazy edits that take an insane amount of skill,
but then they struggle when it’s time to use those edits to deal damage with their shotgun. The 2nd type of Fortnite player is the aggressive
slayer. This is the player that players Fortnite as
if the main objective of the game isn’t to win, it’s to get as many kills as possible. They’d seriously rather get 10 kills early
in the game and then die rather than getting 5 kills total and winning. And because of that, they’re going to push
every single enemy they see no matter what. They don’t care how bad their loot is, how
outnumbered they are, how bad of a position they’re in, whether or not the storm is coming,
none of that really matters to them the majority of the time, they think they can win every
fight. And to be a bit more specific, these types
of players usually prefer close range fights more than anything. Medium to long range engagements in Fortnite
are usually very hard to win quickly. They involve a lot of trading AR chip damage
that in a lot situations isn’t really super impactful, plus you always have to worry about
being sniped so that fear is always in the back of your mind as well. So what an aggressive slayer will try to do
is turn as many fights as possible into a point blank range shotgun and SMG battles. That way they can get their elimination as
quick as possible, loot the body, heal up and then and move on to the next enemy/team. Now at times these aggressive slayers can
definitely be overaggressive or even stupid, and that’s the main downfall of these players. No matter how aggressive you wanna be or how
good you think you are, there are certain fights you just shouldn’t push. And I said in the beginning of this video
that almost every single Fortnite player will relate to at least 1 of these play-styles,
and me personally, I think I’m an aggressive slayer. The next type of Fortnite player is what I
call a backline support player. This person is in some ways the opposite of
the aggressive slayer. It isn’t necessarily that they don’t care
about getting a lot of kills because that can still be true, but backline support players
just never want to push directly into fights like an aggressive slayer would. What they do instead is sit at medium to long
range with ARs, and they’re also typically pretty deadly with snipers. They’re gonna be trying as hard as possible
to get chip damage and picks on the enemies who can’t focus on them because they’re in
a close range fight. I’m sure a lot of you guys out there who play
squads a lot have a friend who just never seems to be with the team during chaotic situations. You and your boys will be fighting for your
lives in some condensed area with like 7 different people building for high ground, and he’ll
just be sitting behind some random ramp 50 meters away calling out that he’s hitting
all these different enemies with his AR for 25 shield. That guy is the definition of a backline support
player. And I know based on that little example it
may sound like a bad thing, but like every other playstyle in Fortnite, it all depends
on the player. In my experience with this type of player,
they embrace this playstyle because it’s a lot safer and slower than the way an aggressive
slayer plays. In close range fights, your margin for error
is so small, if you miss 1 shot in a point blank range shotgun fight, and that could
be all she wrote. That isn’t really the case at medium to long
range unless of course you get super unlucky and get sniped. Plus a lot of players just feel more comfortable
with their AR aim than anything else. There are plenty of pros out there that I
would consider a backline support, so it’s a totally viable playstyle, and it’s not like
it’s something to be ashamed of. You just gotta make sure you play smart and
don’t get too separated from the rest of your teammates. The 4th type of Fortnite player is the non-builder. As I’m sure you can tell by the name, the
non-builder is basically the polar opposite of the creative warrior. However, much like every other Fortnite player,
the non-builder has kinda evolved over time. Back during the early seasons, non-builders
used to literally not build at all, period. But as time has gone on it’s become almost
impossible to have any success without building at all, so nowadays non-builders at least
know the basics. They probably aren’t doing any crazy high
ground re-takes or double floor ramp wall rushes, but they can do things like build
a 1×1 and make some of the more basic edits, ya know like the single window or top corner
wall edits. Based on what I’ve seen, these non-builders
typically have a history of playing shooter videos games, so they have a good foundation,
but they just never really grinded Fortnite as much as other people did, so they struggle
to keep up with more advanced mechanics. However, due to their strong background in
other shooter games, they’re definitely able to hold their own in Fortnite. They typically have good close, medium, and
even long range aim, they have decent game sense when in chaotic fights, and just in
general a high fight IQ. I think the most well known player I would
describe as a non-builder is Nickmercs a few seasons ago. He’s done a really good job of becoming a
much better builder and editor so he probably doesn’t belong in this category anymore, but
he used to be the textbook example of a non-builder, and he had a lot of success even at the highest
level of competitive play. The 5th and final type of Fortnite player
is the fun-seeker. This is the type of player who cares less
about getting a lot of kills, or a lot of wins, or even becoming a better player in
general, their main goal when they hop on Fortnite is to have fun and do cool things-in
game. Fun seekers care about new content being added
into the game more than anybody else. They love trying out and playing around with
new weapons and items, they love the huge in-game events that take place once or twice
per season, they’re almost always down to try out the new LTMs being added into the
game, and they’re much more likely than the average player to go out of their way to complete
daily and weekly challenges. Therefore these players probably aren’t enjoying
chapter 2 season 1 very much, because so far we’ve had barely any new content compared
to previous season, so they probably haven’t been the play the game as much as they have
in the past. Now, are these fun seekers likely to win a
competitive event or make it to champions division in arena mode, probably not. But that stuff doesn’t really matter to them
so they don’t really care, and I think you gotta respect that. And I think the most popular example of a
fun seeker would be someone like a lazarbeam. You don’t watch his videos because he’s really
good at the game, you watch them because he uses Fortnite as a way to have fun and share
some laughs, and that makes his content really entertaining. In a way I’m actually pretty jealous of this
fun seekers because they seem to be the players that have the best overall experience when
playing Fortnite. So, I hope you guys enjoyed this video and
if you watched the entire thing be sure to let me know with a comment down in the comment
section below. As I said earlier in this video, I think every
Fortnite player out there really fits into one of the 5 types of players that we discussed,
like I said I think I’m an aggressive slayer, so which one are you? Be sure to leave a like, leave a comment,
subscribe, turn on post notifications, do whatever the heck you want, and I, will catch
you guys next time!

I proudly identify as a non builder in Fortnite.

Chopinu31_ Fr · January 6, 2020 at 11:54 pm

I think that I am a creative warrior, I practice a lot in creative and I can do some highground retakes and I’m not too bad at editing but I don’t worry too much if I don’t have the highground and I try to play smart 🙂

Hey gronky can I get a shout out for my YouTube channel bro I appreciated so much

kasinko · January 7, 2020 at 12:24 am

I used to be a support, because I first joined in season 6 and the only way that I knew how to counter building was with my nearly two decades of shooting skill at medium to long range, but I eventually grew into a non-builder. Able to do basic ramps, basic forts of varying sizes, bridges, etc but unable to keep up with fast builders and editers with far more practice than me. Its hard to improve against mostly highly skilled players when you're just starting out. As I've gotten much better, I've adapted my play style to use simple builds to mostly counter creative warriors, creating odd situations where the typical movement style of a build fight doesn't quite flow right. Tripping up a creative warrior and taking an opportunity shot at any range is now my best trick up my sleeve! I'm box fight training with my duo partner and working on my edits now, so Im on the Nickmercs path, but ultimately I focus on my gamesense and learning to see angles and opportunities like some of my favorite content creators do! Few things are as valuable as knowing when to use what weapon at what range to get a split second chip or burst damage shot that no one expects that can save your life at the end of a fight! I'll play aggressive, I'll play quiet, but mostly I focus on playing smart and knowing when to balance the play styles to match the multiple situations that a player comes across in a match. Sometimes it pays to be able to adjust your speed from shy to aggro to somewhere in between at will.

Andrell Shuma · January 7, 2020 at 12:32 am

Backline supporter

Dan Mixer · January 7, 2020 at 12:37 am

Non-builder gang. It was the meta for winter royale. I can build pretty well, but I find the more you make a fight into a build fight the more prolonged the fight is and thus susceptible to 3rd parties. I’d rather put my aim against someone else’s than my builds

Joe Gosselin · January 7, 2020 at 12:43 am

#3 is me. I’m an end game warrior.

Joe M · January 7, 2020 at 12:46 am

Gronky i think you actually might be better than plu because i did a solo squad and beat plu and 2 friends spencer then killed me but u killed me in like no time lol ps you in that match was the AGGRESSIVE player lol

CURTIS G · January 7, 2020 at 5:28 am

What about the play for the win player?

REXEL BRAM · January 7, 2020 at 5:41 am

I fit somewhere between aggressive Slayer and backline support. Depends on the fight circumstance, the team I'm with or the player or players I'm facing off against at the time.

When solo squading I tend to be more of a guerilla warrior that turns into an aggressive Slayer if I quickly manage to take out two players before really getting down to business. But, I'm not quite good enough to straight up push a 4 man team and expect to come out on top more 2 times out of 10. Doesn't help being on console….

Show me the evidence · January 7, 2020 at 5:42 am

I'm what you call a "meat shield"

Sisson X · January 7, 2020 at 6:19 am

I don’t exactly fit in any of these I’m more in between the long tang player and the rusher. I call myself a shield breaker cuz at long range I can break your shield in 2-3 shots but the second I feel like I have the advantage I rush them. But I do feel more comfortable at long range to the point where I will go up against a sniper with my AR

spamzy szn · January 7, 2020 at 7:01 am

Im a creative warrior/ Backline support 😂

Edward Hernandez · January 7, 2020 at 8:07 am

I am every type depending on what the situation and team needs of me. But in pubs I try to be as aggressive as possible while not being overly aggressive. I play a lot of comp so I’m well balanced.

8:10 lets be honest, everybody wants to have fun and everybody enjoys the events except for the pro ones

MrSynth Piano · January 7, 2020 at 8:24 am

I see myself more as non builder/ fun seeker but I can build, Im just not that competitive and I want to have fun in the game, but sometimes, I just dont like the weapons, they add #removethelightsabersalready

Dawg Father · January 7, 2020 at 8:32 am

Hi everybody! My name is Zwerker, and I'm a funseeker. Been playing mainly team rumble because of that. Lately I've gotten more into squads (random, have no friends that play) and there I'm a non builder/medic (I'm usually the one who hands out medkits and bandies when my team gets hit)

Shaun BTW · January 7, 2020 at 1:26 pm

Creative warrior

Maxim Ivanov · January 7, 2020 at 4:03 pm

I came to fortnite after apex legends and battlefield 5.I was totally non builder and won a lot of games and gain kills just because my aim was good, and i was good at ar lasering. Then i started to improve myself, i watched a lot of guides, switched to linier and now i am agressive slayer. I am landing on the first location, playing with tac as main gun and tryin to destroy everyone. I usually die by the rat that killed me from the back. After a month playing arena and playing this way i noticed that arena inx fortnite is usless. U can not win playing against pc tryhards(i am playing on Xbox). So now i am back to apex legends because i am better in apex. I feel like apex is not that fast game as fortnite. And i am 20 years old,i can not play that fast as kids, because they are playing 24/7 fortnite.

Xsorn · January 7, 2020 at 4:16 pm

There is only 1 type of FN player anymore “Sweat Box”

Naser Naser · January 7, 2020 at 4:19 pm

Eric Conner · January 7, 2020 at 5:02 pm

I would be a fun seeker/ non builder.

RCVIKINGS · January 7, 2020 at 6:46 pm

I'm a non-builder number 4. But I'm 46 and have been playing since the 80's. so like you said I can shoot decent. and I play differently looking for other ways in the game, showing up behind and adapting. many good players, kind of ninja. plays in a way and he doesn't change it significantly. when things go bad he drives on and goes crazy. with all due respect I love him. I get between 5 10 kills not wolf games but often and I win a good many times

InvisibleGG · January 7, 2020 at 6:54 pm

i am an aggresive slayer for sure

GHOSTLY PRESENT Z34 · January 7, 2020 at 6:57 pm

I am a mix of the no builder and fun seeker for sure.

KaemondeGrande · January 7, 2020 at 7:30 pm

I would say I am the aggressive slayer except i dont get any kills

Jonathan Hupp · January 7, 2020 at 8:05 pm

oh no you explained my style perfect………..I'm a non builder……

Call Me Waka · January 7, 2020 at 8:33 pm

I'm like a mix of all except non builder. If I feel confident I can win a fight I'll push. If I feel its safer to stay back and 3rd party I'll do that. I try to have as much fun as I can when playing and put more emphasis in getting kills rather than winning. Which is kind of a weakness cuz I want to win when I play. Just love getting in fights lol.

Nate Valentine · January 7, 2020 at 10:26 pm
