Mackenzie Is a 5-Game Winner! | JEOPARDY!

– [Alex] $130,803. What a wonderful week
you’ve had, young lady. – Mackenzie, you’re on a roll. You’ve just won your fifth game, which makes you eligible for
the Tournament of Champions. How does that make you feel? – I mean, I was excited
to come and play one game. And now, this is more money
than I’ve ever seen in my life. So I’m just so excited, and
I’m gonna keep studying, and try and keep going as long as I can. – Well you seem to have
so much fun with Alex. What’s he like? – He is just so ready to make a joke, and he genuinely cares about our stories, and he’s finding ways to
connect with all of us, and it’s just, I’m having a great time. – Now, you’ve won a bunch
of money, over $100,000. Any plans on your winnings? – So I have a flat tire
right now that I need to fix, that’s the first thing I need to do. And then maybe I’ll do
that 1,000 more times. – (chuckles) What’s the best
part of the experience so far? – Definitely just the
contestant coordinators, and all the staff, meeting the Clue Crew, which I watch on TV all the time. – Yay.
– And obviously, meeting Mr. Trebek has been amazing. – Well, you’re a great
champion, we wish you well, and continued success. – Thank you.

How come Jon is not in Final Jeopardy! when he didn't get out of the red?

She's become my favorite Jeopardy! champion of Season 36

She know a lot of stuff, but she had a lot of lucky breaks also.

MacKenzie is growing on me. I like big wagerers on this show, so it's nice to see another multi-day champion using them to their advantage!

In the Jeopardy! Round, Alex will remind you to remember your phrasing if you accidentally forget to put your response in question form. In the Double Jeopardy! Round, Alex cannot provide you any assistance in phrasing your response in the form of a question — if you're not careful in that round, it will cost you. Don't blurt out responses; think about them.

Hooray for Mackenzie!

Like Alex said, she starts off slow, then gets it going in the second round. I don't know how comfortable I would be with that style of play, you give your opponents too many opportunities to get a big lead on you, and if you don't find the daily doubles, sooner, or later, that style of play is going to backfire on you. I still think James Holzhauer's style was the best, put the game out of reach for the other players in the first round, so they never catch you. I realize not everyone would be comfortable playing like that, but you have to be confident in your knowledge base.

Why was the old guy allowed to give answers which are not in the form of a question?

Dave B · February 22, 2020 at 6:08 pm

Wish she'd quit rocking back and forth. Makin' me sea sick!

So, on Twitter, there was this fella. He admits to being an addict to social media. Last night, he asked regarding Jon's lackluster Jeopardy! performance: "Is Alex just giving points to people who don't answer in the form of a question?"

I couldn't resist.

I said "Nope. Alex Trebek does it just to see how big or small your attention span is. Heeeeere's your sign. 🙂 "
