How to crop video or record audio with VLC media player – video by TechyV

Hi friends, this is Charlie from techyv.com and today we are going to see the recording feature of VLC media player. So many times we nned when we watch a video or any film, we need that some of the portion to cut. So basically we use some cutter software. So for that we need to download some cutter software and we use the tedious process of cutting the file and it all consumes more process. And we often do not get the desired format we want. so if you have you have VLC media player, we do not need to have any cutter software. And let see how to do that. So first of all let me open any video file. I have this video file over here. Now I am playing this video file. Let say I want some of the portions of this video file. So what I need to do is I want it from here to be ended over here somewhere in this place. So whenever I want to cut the video, I mean the start point of the video, just click on this record button. So I will click and it will start the recording of the video. In other words it is just cutting the video. Now whenever you feel it is the end point, you just click on the record button again. So I am clicking on that. Now let me close this and you can see that by default it is stored in your videos folder. So you can see that you have this file. Yes that’s it. You can see this file. It does not need to have any other cutter software. Now other important thing is when you launch the VLC player, sometimes by default,we will not able to see the recording button. So what you need to do is just go to tools and customize interface and here let me just keep it over here and let’s see what happens. So we can see it is loaded over here. You can see the position over here. If you can not see the recording button select it from this customized interface option. So we can move anywhere and you can remove as well and you can modify other buttons as well. This is all about how to record a video using VLC media player. For more tips and tricks, you can always visit www.techyv.com . Hope you enjoyed the video. Thank you

I want to know how I could transfer VLC movies to Windows Media Player because I cannot get the movies to play on my laptop; the movies are in VLC format. I needed a detailed description of the software that would enable me to do this transfer. Before watching your video, I could only play the movies in my VLC software. I cannot give these movies to others to view on their PCs. After watching your video, I am now able to do this. Now I need to crop the output file using VLC. How would I do that?

Recording from any movies was a very difficult task for me without VLC Media Player. For me, it is the best free open-source media player today. It is simple and very easy to use. Any developer has the ability to create any customized player from it. Now, I can be able to record any part of my favorite movie easily. I watched the tutorials here and it's awesome! I can now modify my videos easily. I can even use this media player as a server and stream my audio. Thanks Techyv!

Fantastic video I have ever seen! I use Ubuntu and Mac so I cannot use the Windows Movie Maker and I don’t have any idea on how to use it as a video cutter to separate out segment from videos easily. I’ve been searching for long for an easier way to cut out small video segments and then I finally got here. I learned that I can use the VLC Media Player as a video cutting tool. I have downloaded VLC and I am now enjoying watching my favorite movie. Thanks Techyv, it helped me a lot.
