Bill Johnson's Theology and Movement Examined Biblically.

Hey Mike, I thought that this was one of the best and most thoughtful presentations on this subject. You did a super good job at not jumping on the "condemnation bandwagon" or the "defending the person bandwagon". I actually went to the School of Ministry at Bethel (I even met my wife there) and your thoughts about their teachings and theology are pretty spot on. I think that the theological concerns that you made mention of are extremely valid and ones that I share myself. Having a well-rounded theology is a major weakness and needs to be addressed there. I believe that true biblical and spiritual authority comes from actually understanding the meaning and the authorial intent of the text. Although God is faithful to his Word and so many amazing things have happened and are happening (my life was dramtically changed after being there) being correctly grounded in the Word is still paramount and you did a great job at making that seen.

That dangling the carrot you refer to is also called “future faking,” and is a marked trait of narcissism.

יהוד מינץ · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

You ask question – is false prophet saved??? Come on man!!!!!!!!!!

יהוד מינץ · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Gospel is not about physical healing (((((((((((((

יהוד מינץ · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Man I thought that you have a little bit more of Biblical discernment (((

jeffreysflvs · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Thanks for all the research and for providing a well-grounded view on this matter!

Mcfirefly2 · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

If "all liars have their place in the lake of fire", unrepentant liars are not saved. So would saved people use mylar glitter (or even real, northern California, gold-panning gold dust) and chicken feathers (or the feathers of any bird) to pretend visitations by angels? Would they mount elaborate false miracles, and then continue to affirm those miracles years later?

If we realize that some aggressive religious movements believe both that the ends justify the means (the ends they have decided are worthy of the means–the means their seared consciences can stand to employ to get their way in the world); and that all faiths and religions, including any form of Christianity, are merely the "Noble Lie" to control the people, again, a deception whose ends justify the means in their eyes; and many so-called "liberal" Christians, represented by the Emergent movement, which definitely recommends that working to unite the world is important, but the mere, gospel of salvation is basically "over" (which it couldn't be, if our God, and His judgment and salvation are real), are sworn to work to unify all the religions of the world under Rome; if those are true, should we really be so careless about trusting people who lie without repentance, even about chicken feathers and glitter?

The more I listen to this video ,the more I see just how much Mike had put into it , in regards to his thoughtful examination of bethels theology . So thoughtful ,very thoughtfully done with care and love . God bless you .

I don’t believe Jesus is just a healing machine. There are people in our churches that just aren’t ready for healing. Why should everyone be healed when they aren’t ready; when they will just not appreciate it; when their hearts just aren’t right? Can someone that is a wife beater receive healing if their hearts aren’t right? Bill Johnson’s theology is systematic. Healing is by God’s will and God’s time and even if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t mean you are not a God loving Christian. Dying is a sickness. It is always a result of something not working. Organs shutting down, brain deteriorating. These are illnesses. If BJ’s theology were correct, no-one would die. You would always be healed.

Sandi Styles · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Mike you are taking what he is saying out of context. You are playing short clips then giving your opinion on what he thinks.

Sandi Styles · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Mike where do you go to the church?

Sandi Styles · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Wow, you are really trying hard to nail him. Are you one of those John mcarther nuts.

Ahmathyah · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Jesus is perfect theoloy, it's their theoloy of Jesus that isn't perfect! Thank you for this video Mike. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

P Clare · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

I could have this super wrong but I always thought of the thorn in the flesh that Paul had as a burden he struggled with and wanted lifted. Might be physical but that wasn't what came to mind straight away when I read that passage of scripture.

Katie VC · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

I just want to thank you for all the time you put into this video.Your studies and your knowledge. This video is eye opening. I pray all those people following that false moment will turn away from it and realize their error. This video touched close to home because a church I used to go to and I visited just recently to do worship is getting into the Bethel teaching. Made me very sad and frightened. Which lead me to look into the teaching and wow! Scary stuff. Thank you again for this video. Greatly appreciated!!!♡

Kenneth Martinez · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

The Heaven Come conference going on refutes the main argument of this video just so you know. I would’ve have been convinced otherwise but Bill does address the assumption of his stance on his healing theology.

Watch the first day. (Yesterday’s stream)

All straight from the horses mouth, snippets don’t justify anything for me so I decided to search for myself. The Lord lead me to watching this conference just to give you a backdrop. I also went to Bethel but I definitely respect what your doing brotha! Keep defending the faith.

Bill Johnson CONJORS Spirits!!!

Brian Schuster · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Bethel Pastors are Swapping wives…thats normal in the N.A.R.

The singer carmen (TBN) never had cancer…he had an STD…

In the end times man will be sinning like in the days of Noah.

Bethel pastors are kissing the feet of Catholic Cardinals(ive heard pope but not seem that picture yet)…they are the FAKE Christians in the NWO.

Brian Schuster · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Are you trying to be misleading.

Bethels 7 mountain mandate includes world domination all the way down to our local gouvernment….

Satan is leading the revival your talking about.

Our new mayor is a bethel wackado…

Brian Schuster · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

9 churches man your nuts!!!

Brian Schuster · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Your not a ballance view. This cult was built on the deaths of scott and darren Grubbs. (My best friends) you know about 2% of anything.
You should take this down and re do it.

Brian Schuster · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Time…2minutes inand your wrong…
Benny Hinn and Bill Johnson both use the same Hypnosis out of the same book…benny is coaching at bethel and there are videos that the guy with the mic keeps repeting DEEPER DEEPER DEEPER…as tye members appear to have reverted to the ReBirthing process and have to be BORN AGAIN.

stacy christensen · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Your balanced analysis of Bethel's theological teaching was a refreshing approach. However, since the Holy Spirit is part of the trinity and has been given to every believer who professes Christ as Lord and Savior, would you please teach on the ways Bethel addresses this part of the triune God? Since God is a God of order and peace, their practices do not appear to be led by the Holy Spirit, but rather demonic in nature. God is the Father, the Son, AND the Holy Spirit; therefore, one must approach each with reverence. I do NOT see a holy and reverent approach, but one that is arrogant and blasphemic in nature. One cannot separate the nature of God.

John Doe · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Why not just call it what it is as the Bible warns it’s simply a false Jesus and false gospel. Just because some prophecy happens and some healing happens doesn’t not mean it’s from God.

Dan Dwyer · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

You're an excellent teacher Mike. Thanks for your service, much appreciated. subbed…

bunch of sorcerers

Con Artist · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

I didn’t understand what Bill was saying in regard to Paul’s “thorn in his side…?” It sounded to me like he was discrediting Paul.

Con Artist · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

I think you are too kind. I have zero tolerance tolerance for people that take it upon themselves to twist the scriptures to suit their own agenda. I was involved in a cult for years and came out very scarred. Everyone must be pointed to the Word to let the Holy Spirit speak to themselves. Leaders have to be held accountable for theirs teaching.
Why concentrate on these outward gifts and healings when it should be the inside of a person that must be cleansed?

John Doe · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Can’t be a false teacher or false prophet and be of God or saved

karen gingras · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Hello Mike,,,,my first time watching…a friend sent me this,,,,,took a nine month Bethel course at a local church….been a Christian since 1976…..involved in many facets of ministry throughout the years…. I stayed at the school because I wanted to see first hand what is taught….much reminded me of my prior Silva Mind Control back in the 70’s,,,also tarot cards and aura reading…….lot of visualization….in your mind setting up a garden scene and inviting any deceased saint to come and dialogue with you…one of Bill’s secretary’s was brought into teach us the technique….a class on spiritual readings of tattoos and use it as a witnessing tool….then of course continual words…only good ones….tried to discuss End Times…I was told we could change that if we prayed,,,nothing negative was welcome….some teaching very good…some good textbooks also used, but, a mixed bag…a young or not Bible based student wouldn’t know how to discern…..appreciate you covering some of the issues…it is not balanced…as a nurse much concerns me…..I’ve been involved with a variety of ministries one Shatter the Darkness rescues people from Satanic lifestyle or being victims…as a nurse I had taken care of women that had been used as breeders to provide babies for sacrifice…also help people come out of MK Ultra….helped with human trafficking and prostitution as well…so, you can’t use many of their teachings in those settings…..but rely on the power of God and truth of His Word to minister not just feel good….blessings 🙏✝️💝

Wanda Nevers · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Why don't you try to discuss this with him firsthand?

House of Generals sounds like the serpent made of brass. Nehushtan!

Drew Cheney · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

On the subject of being healed in church you said how do they know they are healed. It’s called believing in faith they are believing in the faith of God that they have been healed and when you put all your faith in God with no Questions asked Miracles begin to happen because why? Because of faith

Brother Fred · May 27, 2019 at 2:39 am

Excellent expose' on the false and distorted teaching of Bill Johnson and Bethel Church. Has anyone ever wondered why ministries focus on "signs and wonders" and doing the works of Jesus except casting out devils from people? I propose an explanation. " A house divided against itself cannot stand" If you are imparting another spirit to people that is not of God then it would be counter productive to cast them out. The followers of Jesus often are looking for what Jesus can do for them now. example the people who followed him looking for more loaves and fishes. If you want a mega church and lots of money and fame then just give people what they want. Appeal to their baser desires…. Give them good entertainment, drama, food, and never talk of the judgement that will come because of sin. The health, wealth, and prosperity gospel is false. Jesus was tempted by Satan with wealth and fame and declined the offer. False teachers and mega-Church pastors have taken the bait and have used semantics ( words) to redefine their error as truth and their motives as pure. The Lord's prayer says " Your Kingdom come , Your will be done on earth" Bill distorts this to be your kingdom be done on earth. This opens the door to the 7 mountains mandate and kingdom now heresy. We are not in control of when Jesus returns and Judgement will come on this earth as Jesus taught it. The scripture is its own best interpreter!!! Read, Read, Read, it is all truth. Heed the warnings of the many false teachers coming in His name given to us by Jesus and His disciples.
