I didn't know there were so many. This is going to make a great reference. She should have taken a picture with design not just the numbers. Numbers do fade. Difficult for me. I got more info from just shopping for them on .
The black knobs on thr buffet servers lids are made of Bakelite Bakelite begins to blister at F degrees.

Sep 11, Corning Ware Marks and Mayhem - General Dating of Corning Ware Back Stamps I think it's time to touch on the dates associated with certain marks. I have avoided this subject, primarily because with Corning Ware, it is not an exact science.
Not sure if foil will help. Have a white round casserole with white cover and black handle. Any idea what I have? Yes, the bottom dish is a Buffet Server.
InCorning changed the name of the buffet server to "Round". This coincided with the release of "Avocado Round" pieces and the 69 release of Butterscotch Round. The original white buffet servers were still in production, but the mark was changed to only the model number, reflecting their new status as "White Round" pieces. The lids for the "Round" items had ceramic knobs that matched the color of the dish.
Your lid, with the black Bakelite knob is older than the dish and from the original "Buffet Server". None of these look like the stamp on the bottom of the one I have. Wanting to sale several pieces and needing to know value. Under other looks double stamped. Sounds like you have a piece from the pre-model number era. Actual model numbers did not begin showing up until really late in with the release of the Electromatic Percolator and Electromatic skillet.
Most of the regular cookware started receiving model numbers in early Check out this blog post on 2nd generation piece I think it has what you are looking for. Shane, love love love this!!! Have learned so much from you and now am a Corning Ware nut, too!
Quick question: I have a 10" blue cornflower with the blurry blue ink on the bottom that says Corning Ware 10 in. What is APD? Should I hold on to this? Didn't know if it was something special. Thank you!!
Regarding Corning Ware Pyroceram mold numbers, were the A mold numbers created first, then the B mold numbers, and lastly the C mold numbers? P-series and W-series model numbers were the first to be used in This was followed closely by the B-series buffet servers, when they were released in A-series model numbers began in The handle looks like plastic.
Is it oven safe? Im thinking no, but want to hear what you all say. Sound like you have the Cookmates version of the P Gourmet Skillet with the bolted handle.
These are oven safe, to a point. They are made of Bakelite, which starts to blister at about degrees I usually don't use them in an oven over ,myself; just to be safe. I found an Amama Radarware plain white browning skillet marked MA. There is no oxide coating on the bottom. Does this mean it's inside the pyroceram? Sounds like you found a factory mistake. Especially since the Amana Colonial House house is missing - Amana's Trademark There have been a few of these type items popping up over the last couple of months.
They are usually later model items though Like the MW handled tray. The gray tin oxide coating is always applied to the bottoms underside.
Sometimes they coated the tin oxide layer with an black enamel layer as protection from scratching. But this seems to be more prevalent on later model items, and not the original square skillet dishes. I have had a P10b 10 in skillet for awhile and just recently found a small knob lid to fit. However,it is marked A-Z with the only other lettering being the Pyrex trademark. I am wondering because it doesn't show up on your list.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer! I have a Corning Ware petite casserole dish. The pattern is of a man and woman seated at a small round bistro table in front of a window.

Do you know of this pattern? I actually know exactly which pattern you are talking about. I have been looking for one for a while now. Very few of these show up. It may have been an employee item some of those do not have pattern names. Would this have been a test pattern to see if it would sell?
Is there a value for this? Thanks again for answering my question, much appreciated. As I was washing it hand wash I noticed the glass is unevenly frosted and rough like the glass shades on ceiling fans, and it has splotches of a rainbow hue in the glass in places, also unevenly. It also has a wavy groove pattern on one half of the lid but not the other. Was wondering if it might have been colored at one point or is there something unique about it, or maybe it was damaged?
I also have another lid that has a bunch of blobs within the glass itself, I guess they didn't have quality control back then? Thanks for this great list. I just purchased a blue Cornflower Dutch oven 4 quart with base number P34B and lid P12C which according to your list is a matching set. It is in perfect condition. Corningware is so great to cook with - cleans up easily. I love it! It's a rather small cup not a mug with a light blue ring at the top of the cup, and a light grey ring under that blue ring.
A branch with berries on it is the pattern on the side of the cup.
Not having any luck locating these. Any recommendations? That sound like a Corelle cup, which is not made of Corning Ware Pyroceram Sorry I cannot be of more help.
Hi, Shane! I have some kind of Corningware dish that I'm pretty sure was my grandmother's; I've never looked on the bottom of it but I will tonight.
I was in a thrift store today and saw several dishes in the same pattern and got really excited. Now I'm wondering if they're just stoneware that's just a few years old?
Video of the Day
A few of them had no markings on the bottom at all. It has the starburst logo above. Should I snag them up?
What about the ones with no markings? I'd like to have them all, as I had no idea what good dishes they were until I was reading up online today.
I'd be happier buying them if I knew they weren't just stoneware. Any help would be appreciated! A good rule of thumb, is that if the piece has a model number such as P or PB then it is real Pyroceram Corning Ware. If it doesn't, chances are that it is stoneware It use to be safe to say that just about any baking dish with the Corning Cornflower on it, was pyroceram, but that has recently changed now that World Kitchen has released stoneware baking dishes from their CW line, with the infamous Blue Cornflower logo on them But they don't have model numbers.
Hello again Shane! Will any of the other lids in that line fit it? Thanks in advance. Not sure of the exact measurements though.

Tuesday, November 26, The A-B-Cs of Vintage Corning Ware - Corning Ware Model Numbers I have a Corning Ware petite casserole dish. it is marked on the bottom with: Corning Ware PB mL General Dating of Corning Ware Back Stamps.
I have some dishes marked Corning -made in USA, with a glass blower pic. Just a different number on every piece. I can see light through the white glass if I Hold it up. They have a little green leaf design. What are these? Any info? Not sure how to post a pic. I have a simple question. I have not seen anything that is labeled Grab A Meal, but I noted that some of your Christmas patterns use this term. It's just a matter of size.
On both sides of the teapot at the lower right outside if the pattern is the 24 with a wavy line underneath the 24 laser etched into the teapot. What does it mean or stand for or refer to? Thank you! SOL and Wildflower often have these small numberd on the lower right portion of the pattern They are the silk screen numbers since all the different sized pieces in the line have slightly different patterns.
a relaxing and *cute* fall weekend getaway??
I assume these are all Pyroceram and can go on stove top and in freezer? And lastly, I have a large dish with no markings at all on the bottom, but has Corning Ware in raised white lettering under one handle and AB 5 Liter also in raised white lettering under the opposite handle Also, does it really matter which lid goes with each casserole dish. I have a lid for each dish and some seem to fit various sizes? I know this is a really long post Thanks for any info you can provide!
Sounds like you are talking about the "Spice O' Life" pattern. Your best bet for researching current selling prices is to check the "sold" listings on. That will give you a ball park value on your particular piece.

You really need the model numbers of the items I have 3 pieces. All white with blue flowers. What can you tell me about that? They are all in good condition and I dont want to use them if they are old.
Well, the PB, being a skillet was manufactured post and up until The other pieces Pie dish and P-4 Baker are both considered bakeware and continued production until the early 80s Though the pie dish didn't enter production until You'll have to match the marks provided in this blog post to narrow down the time frames for each individual piece.
I have a piece that has A Blue cornflower lid matches pan. Just curious how I would find out more about it. Thank you for all the information.
I understand A means prior to Actually A 30 with no dashes means it's a mold number instead of a model number. It also means, since it has a model number, that you are talking about a first generation 10 inch skillet. Its older than I am lol Damn it man Thank you so much Do have any recommendations for things I could go read? I love corningware. Besides growing up with it. I never considered it having value. I use them on regular basis. I saw a post being circulated on fb about Corningware which got me curious.
I kept coming back to your site cuz your info was simple I could actually grasp the info. Then I started reading comments and saw you actually answer.
Thank you so very much for the info. Peaceful journeys be safe. Would that be rare. Check out the blog post on the specific pattern. They are now wondering how they can find out their worth as they are about to move house and so are 'clearing out'. Any suggestions for Australia? I can't quote prices in Australia, because I have no idea how common they are there I am only familiar with the current United States market.
I would check the "sold" listings on. I have a set with the AB etched in the handle in beautiful condition 5 liter with matching lid AB with matching lid and a AB with matching lid Your best bet for current market value is to check the "sold" listing on It will give you an average of what people are willing to pay for a particular item. How would you determine the value of Corning Ware.
To determine actual value, you need to click the "sold" box to the left to see what prices are actually being paid by the buyers Current listings are extremely subjective. I have pieces of what I believe to be vintage Corning Ware, with the same patterns shown here on this website.
But mine have no stamp or number. This is usually the case except for 1st and 2nd generation items, however, those items will have information embossed on the bottom or blurry blue ink stamps indicating the dish size with the words Corning Ware or Pyroceram on the bottom.
Hi Shane, hope you're well. Thanks so much. I am trying to sell a couple of items for my sister.
Are they just crazy or is there something I should know. It's a fallascy. The original article was 6 years old and it was about Pyrex bowls that were mistaken for Corning Ware. But some people took the old new to heart and then the radio stations picked up on it and started reporting about high listing prices for Corning Ware, and yet they never looked at the "sold" listing on to see what things were actually selling form.
So the lie was perpetuated and sensationalized by bad news reporting practices. Thank you Shane. I did look at the sold and never saw anything close to it. I really appreciate you responding so quick! Any idea what its worth? We all know be crazy! Most A Skillets are worth about in perfect condition, with the lid If it was the flat ground bottomed version A used on the Electromatic Table Range, it would be worth a little bit more.
Do you know your A B Cs? A - is for post Corning Ware, when they straightened the sides and widened the handles the lids have larger knobs too Later, the stamp would be embossed under the handle. Posted by Shane T. Anonymous November 27, at AM. Anonymous January 6, at PM.
